The period of time during which man has lived without an open fire is very short.  The comfort we get from fire in our homes is based on an archaic need of human beings. I attempt to integrate fire into modern living in an aesthetically sophisticated form.  Space and architecture are important, however, the longer I have studied and worked on  ‘tiled stoves’, the more personal my designs become. In the system “Space – object – man” people are at the centre and the object in the space has to serve man.
